Paris, France
Paris is where I found (...)
But why exactly is Paris the "city of love" and does it really deserve the title?
Paris can truly gift you unbelievable emotions and treat you with iconic «Parisienne» atmosphere.
Once in a lifetime you should leave Paris with some love story behind, with a large portion of drama and romance. Also don't forget to top up your story with champagne and oysters, café and croissants, jambon and beurre.

I have thought over this aspect a lot. But after passing grand, Georges Haussman-designed central Paris, as well as the charming cobbled streets of Montmartre and the Marais, how can I reject such a notion?!

Even Paris's small size and wide streets mean it's ideal for walking and taking in the scenery with your beloved ones. As if everything is designed for couples or newlyweds.

I have visited Paris 3 times, based on my story I can highlight the main points here below:

  1. Les Pinces at Le Marais - if you want to try fresh and juicy Lobster just go there and enjoy the meal. Highly recommend 8,5 out of 10.
  2. Les Amateurs - small cafe at Les Batignolles. Order big cappuccino with almond topping and enjoy outdoor timing.
  3. Take a motorbike ride until the central part. I drove from the 8th to the 9th arrondissement to Galeries Lafayette at Boulevard Haussmann.
  4. Take a night ride and visit The Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées, commonly known as the Grand Palais, is a large historic site, exhibition hall and museum complex located at the Champs-Élysées in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, France
  5. Grande Patinoire Paris
  6. The Louvre, or the Louvre Museum, is the world's largest art museum and a historic monument in Paris, France.
  7. Legendary Ralph Lauren cafe at Boulevard Saint-Germain. You should definitely visit that momentary place.
  8. Eat lots of croissant and just keep silent and enjoy.

However I made some small investigation from another part. And those who live in the city might be seeing the irony in its reputation for romance too, as Paris is apparently the capital of single people, infidelity and divorce in France.

Some 43% of Parisians are single, which is 10% higher than the rest of the country, and of those in relationships 46% admit to cheating, compared to 40% in the rest of the country.

Paris may not be the place to find your happily ever after either, as only 25% of marriages last over 20 years, drastically lower than the national average of 41%.

So there's no doubt you can have a wonderfully romantic time in Paris, enjoying the unique combination of beautiful architecture, unspoiled history, fine cuisine and fine wine, surrounded by passionate locals but perhaps don't come expecting to swan through the city like Audrey Hepburn, and maybe think carefully about falling for a local. It could end in tears.
